Energy management and optimization
For all its sites, the Doux Group has developed a policy to optimize energy consumption.
The consumption of energy on our sites is principally linked to the production of cold (Cold stores, freezing tunnels etc.).
In order to optimise this energy consumption, several actions have been put in place throughout our sites, notably:
- A start up sequence for the refrigeration compressors in order to regulate power and avoid over consumption.
- Careful management of the cold rooms, with a focus on nighttime energy use.
- Precise management of the freezing tunnels and cold rooms, which allows us, thanks to robots, to work in energy “storage mode”, rather than continuous ventilation.
Besides this, all the energy we generate by the cooking of by products (in particular chicken fats) is reused to power the site.
