Health and environment charter

010. Health and environment charter

A pioneer for quality, the Doux Group set up a health and environment charter as early as 1999 in line with three requirements: animal health and safety, animal welfare and respect for the environment.
To be accredited with this charter, breeders must fulfil an initial analysis validating the compliance of their facilities (health barriers isolating the building from the outside world, reprocessing of waste).
They are then subject to annual audits checking compliance with a series of specifications.

This charter formalizes the breeder's missions and establishes stringent monitoring of a range of indicators concerning the animal's weight, its state of health, the rearing density and even the temperature in the building.
Based on these indicators, our technicians provide the breeders with specific support throughout the rearing process (frames of reference for comparison with other breeders, information on changes and developments concerning legal, health and environmental standards).

A similar charter has been developed in Brazil, where it is part of a global Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) approach, a method for managing risks, from rearing to transformation, recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Our integration model, a guarantee of optimum traceability

The Doux Group’s strength lies in its unique specific characteristic within its sector: a fully integrated business, from the egg to the plate.
