Groupe Doux
Waste recycling

The Doux Group's waste management policy is part of a global approach for managing activities respecting safety, security, health and the environment. It is based on a range of programs that are aimed primarily at minimizing the quantity of waste produced by adapting the operating conditions or processes.
Secondly, we give priority to their selective sorting and promote their recycling with a view to their direct or indirect reclamation. The waste products generated are identified based on their characteristics, their volume is assessed and outlets are identified.
This selective sorting covers:
-
Cardboard, reclaimed by companies specialized in this area;
-
Metals, deposited in dedicated dumpsters within the sites for recovery;
-
Plastic bags, reclaimed with companies like Véolia.
All of the by-products associated with poultry production are recycled:
-
Our co product plants treat the materials resulting from slaughtered animals (feathers, internal organs);
-
Animal fats are recovered and used for energy production within the plants;
-
Sludge is recycled based on a sewage farming or lagooning plan or as manure, depending on its characteristics.
And finaly, we are constantly working to reduce the weight of our packaging in order to:
-
Reduce our carbon footprint;
-
Limit the volume for recycling.
